It is with pleasure that we introduce you to the gîte rural Boisseau in southern Burgundy (boisseau7191.tumblr.com). The property of Boisseau is situated in the Morvan regional park, 4 km. from the village La Grande Verrière, 17 km. from the antique city of Autun and to 50 km of the capital of the wine Beaune.
The situation is perfect for exploring or relaxing the Burgundy region. The lush valleys giving way to pastureland on one side, to rugged slopes on another and to vineyards on yet another characterise the diversity of this region .

Boisseau has all the charm of a stone-built former farm built in the seventeenth century and is typical of the rural architecture of the region.

You could find yourself there :
- an enchanting site for all the lovers of nature, situated on the side of a hill and facing Mont Beuvray, the property of Boisseau offers a magnificient panorama which is characteristic of the Haut Morvan.
- a haven of peace : Boisseau is serviced by a forest lane and thus has an aura of exceptionnal calm and tranquility.
- a spot for rest and leisure activities on its 3 acres of land comprising meadow, grassed courtyard, kitchen garden (BBQ) and orchard.

About the Gite

The gîte rural has been designed to accommodate six people and is situated on the first floor above the proprietors's own appartment. The classification for the cottage Boisseau ranges 3 "ears of corn".

Totally independent the Gîte is spacious at 125 m.² Comfortably furnished to a good standard :
1 bedroom of 30 m.² with a double bed, 1 bedroom of 16 m.² with a double bed, 1 bedroom of 17 m.² with two single beds. Separate bathroom and W.C. A large living room with integral fully equiped kitchen : dishwasher, washing machine, television, telephone (using the card service obtainable fom all agencies of France Telecom). Point Internet.

All sheets and duvets are supplied. Baby facilities. Garage.
Full heating by electricity (charges for this service are not included in the price of hire).

The property of 1,2 ha (3 acres) includes a principal house, two barns of which one shelters the cars, an old baker's oven, a well and a trough, a turfed court, meadow, a large orchard and a kitchen garden.

Reservation

We can discover Burgundy from Boisseau through the wine tourism route, the greenways, the St-Jean-de-Compostelle Route and the castle road.

There are numerous lakes in the region (at Autun, the Lac des Settons, the Lac de Pannessière-Chaumard and l'Etang des Poissons), all are admirably suited to the enjoyment of nautical sports and fishing.

On the Haut Folin at 901 m. of altitude there are pistes for cross-country skiing.

Mont Beuvray situated only 10 km. from Boisseau is one most important archeological sites in Europe and magnificent museum to exhibit the Gallo-Roman remains.
The Morvan landscapes are able to embody the spirit of freedom and independence demonstrated by France's Gaule ancestors, who founded this site and consolidated their power base in Bibracte (Mont Beuvray), while inspiring pride in the area's longstanding traditions : Vercingétorix and Julius Caesar stayed here.
